What is the eNOTAM Information Portal?
The eNOTAM Information Portal contains all of the eNOTAM's educational material, trip/flight reports and other miscellaneous information. Everything on the site is downloadable… should you find something you want to keep! Please let us know if you have any problems accessing the info.
What is the eNOTAM Events Calendar?
The Flying Events Calendar contains all relative flying information in a Google Calendar format. You can look at each month and see what is available. If you register with Google (setting up your own Google account
What is the eNOTAM?
The eNOTAM covers many flying events in our focus area; AL, western GA, MS, eastern LA and the panhandle of FL. While our epicenter is located in Mobile, AL and some events we track are outside the “focus” area, I want to stay current on activities that are reachable (by most folks) in a days flight or a weekend trip. I typically email this info every week or two. The eNOTAM also includes educational material, TFR’s, FAA Safety Alerts, Trip Reports and even local flying activities (food flights, etc). Each eNOTAM is currently viewed by almost 700 flying enthusiasts!
...which I recommend) you can import several different Google Calendars. For example... If your adventures take you further west, Jim Riviere covers flying events for Louisiana. The LaFlyins.com calendar has aviation events for Louisiana and the surrounding area. You can add that calendar to your list and view everything on the eNOTAM and LaFlyins calendar at the same time!
Tell me about the Why?
After taking an eight year hiatus from flying...and we're still not sure exactly why... we returned to flight in July 2006. It was great to visit with old friends in the flying community. It didn't take me long to realize that something was missing. There was no "system" in place to notify each other of flying events and such. I started compiling info from many different sources and emailing the upcoming events to our flying friends. I would hear about a gathering at a small airport, do a little digging and if appropriate would send this info out through my flying email list. Within a few months I was getting info about "small" non-advertised flying events that were happening all around us! ...Who Knew! Most folks know about the big events and there are excellent web sites that carry them (EAA, AOPA, Alabama Aviator, etc)...but there is so much that is missed. Plus...most folks don't have (or take) the time to sit and research all the different venues to find out what events are upcoming. The eNOTAM fills this gap! To sum it up...the eNOTAM is a grass roots effort to keep "our" flying community involved and informed about events and information that is important to recreational type flying.
How much does it cost?
Nothing, noda, naught, zero... The eNOTAM is a labor of love. We put a lot of time and effort into keeping you informed. Honestly, it is time intensive, we make a few mistakes along the way...but we keep doing our best! I have had individuals and businesses asking about ad space or donating to help support the cause. The eNOTAM (in it's entirety) is free...no cost or obligation to anyone! I did not start this as a business. If your business is appropriate to the cause, I will be glad to add your approved ad or Link to the "Friends We Support" page. Again...no charge. However, we will gladly accept all donations (from businesses and individuals) to help fund the cause and cover the ongoing personal expenses of maintaining the eNOTAM website. If you are pleased with the eNOTAM (including the emailed Weekly Update) and it is providing you with usable information, please feel free to make a contribution of any size through PayPal. Trust me...it will be appreciated! Thanks.
The Nitty Gritty
Note: The eNOTAM may contain misspellings, grammatical errors, disorganized sentence structure, misquotes, and may entirely lack a coherent theme…at times. These elements are natural to the process of writing, and will only add to the overall beauty of the information being presented! Thanks!
All eNOTAM information is provided only a casual, non-official service to the aviation community. The eNOTAM, it's Editor, contributors and supporters are not liable for any misunderstanding, accident, injury or death that may occur because of ANY information provided. Please use good judgment when flying and/or attending any event. Do the right thing with proper preflight planning, including a call to FSS (Flight Service) for a preflight briefing. You are the PIC and are solely responsible for your actions. Please make us proud!
Remember…There is really only one option available when it comes to flying… Going up!
... coming down is not an option… ...so, do it on your terms!
